Students know and understand the academic expectations of a course at a high level from the very beginning.

Action Steps

  • The teacher provides a lesson/instruction that clarifies performance expectations and communicates major deadlines in the first days of class.
  • Using backwards design the teacher shares syllabus; models performance on reading/tasks/central skills needed to succeed on AP exam; and provides exemplar/non-exemplar analysis of test questions/prompts.
